State Superintendent visits Westfield School District for biodiesel production. View YouTube Production
On September 23 Elizabeth Burmaster traveled to the Westfield School District, where students and staff demonstrated biodiesel production as part of an innovative new program. Using used food oil donated by area businesses, the district produces biodiesel for its vehicles, at nearly a 75 percent savings over standard fuel. Students are learning the process and will be involved in refining, publicizing, and expanding the effort. Numerous media outlets attended or covered the event. The Department of Public Instruction will post video from the visit in the next few weeks. View YouTube Production |
